15th Annual Camp Furlong Day event and Cabalgata Binacional

15th Annual Camp Furlong Day event happens on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in Columbus, NM.  Cabalgata riders arrive in Columbus around 10:30 a.m. and proceed to the Village of Columbus plaza across from City Hall for food, festivities and fun.  Guest historians begin their presentations at the Rec Hall building at Pancho Villa State Park at 1:00 pm and end at 4:00 pm.  More info on the presentations to be posted as more details become available.

The Friends of Pancho Villa State Park will host an art show in the park’s Customs House all day.

The Village of Columbus Chamber of Commerce will welcome the annual Cabalgata Binacional on Saturday, March 10, 2018.  As a gesture of friendship between the people of Mexico and the United States, the horse riders from Mexico will be joined by American riders as they make the three mile trek from Palomas, Mexico to Columbus, NM.  The riders are expected to arrive in Columbus around 10:30 a.m. and join the festivities in the Village Plaza, including Folklorico Dancers, Mariachis, food vendors and much more!

On Friday, March 9, the Columbus Historical Society will hold its annual Memorial Service at the Depot Museum at 10 a.m. in remembrance of the Americans whose lives were lost during the 1916 raid on Columbus.  For info call 575-531-2620
